In Europe there exist a very lot of different Coordinate Reference Systems (CRS), and new CRS are defined. For building up a Spatial Data Infrastructure (SDI), one condition is that all spatial data (geodata) which are used for a specific purpose need to use the same CRS simultaniously. For that, the definition of each CRS ant their relations has to be known.
